The constitution debate is getting dirty as each camp try to out do the other. The government led by President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga support the YES vote while majority of church leaders are in the same NO camp with a section Rift Valley members of parliament led by Hon. William Ruto, the MP for Eldoret North. The church is against the inclusion of Kadhi courts in the constitution saying that this favours the Islamic religion. The church also is against the abortion clause that allows doctors the right to terminate pregnancy in case the life of the mother is in danger. The rift valley MPs on the other hand are against the section of the constitution that gives power to parliament to set the minimum and maximum size of land an individual may own. What is your take on this?   Give your comments on the proposed constitution       26 May 2010 18:53:39 Approaching this debate from the middle ground, I believe that we are letting our leaders, the MPs, Church leaders, Muslim leaders, the president and the prime minister think for us. All this people have a stake in the process and will do all they can to make you and I fulfil their desires. We must sit back and soberly decide for ourselves without the influence of external parties. The decision we take will determine the future of our country when you and I shall not be there. Think of 100 years from now, what would you like your descendants to be like. Does the draft constitution contain what it takes to improve our lives or make it worse? Are working making a decision with selfish minds or open minds? May God forgive us and give the courage to choose wisely!!!
